Our Responsibilities
Company
The Company has a responsibility to:
- Develop and maintain an ethical culture that promotes good business behavior and compliance with our Code of Conduct and all laws and regulations
- Issue and communicate our Code of Conduct and our policies to all Arch employees
- Provide regular training and counseling on our Code, policies, laws and regulations
- Implement appropriate control measures to detect compliance risks and violations
- Encourage employees to raise issues and report concerns without fear of retaliation
- Take prompt action to correct any compliance weaknesses that have been identified
Employees, Officers and Members of the Board of Directors
All Arch employees, officers and members of the Board of Directors have a responsibility to:
- Read and understand our Code of Conduct
- Learn the details of Arch policies and procedures that relate to their work
- Comply with the laws and regulations of the U.S. and other countries where we do business
- Seek guidance and assistance when they have a question about the application of a policy, procedure or law
- Promptly report suspected violations and concerns about any situation that could violate our Code, Company policy or legal requirement
Management
Managers and supervisors have a special responsibility to lead by example and to:
- Ensure that each of our employees understands and follows our Code of Conduct and our Company policies
- Provide employees with education and counseling so that they know how to comply with our Code, policies, laws and regulations
- Demonstrate in words and deeds a commitment to our Code and to legal and ethical behavior
- Be accessible and approachable and encourage employees to seek advice or help without fear of punishment or reprisal
- Make sure employees understand that performance and ethical business conduct are equally important
