Industrial Biocides
Our industrial biocides are chemicals used to control the growth of microorganisms in paints, architectural coatings and metal working fluids. Personal Care Products

Wood Treatment
Through our affiliates we are also a global market leader in wood treatment, with operations worldwide in the United States, Europe, South Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Our leading brands of industrial wood preservatives and fire retardants—Wolmanized, Thompsonized, Tanalised and Dricon—can be found in home improvement and construction supply stores around the world. From leisure and landscaping projects to long-lasting utility poles and marina docks and pilings, Arch Wood Treatment products stand the test of time. Water Treatment Products
We are a world leader in water sanitization through our HTH Water Products business. From municipal drinking water and food processing industries to commercial and residential swimming pools, you’ll find our products keeping our water clean and safe. Our pool chemical products are sold primarily under the widely-recognized HTH® brand name, the POOLIFE® brand name and the Baquacil® and Baqua Spa® brand names. The 21st century provides more opportunity for our HTH Water Products business, and we’re moving to capture the advantage our research and our experience provide.
Already a leader in treating residential swimming pool water, Arch Chemicals is on track to grow sales in the huge commercial swimming pool market through our patented Pulsar® feeder systems. Designed to work optimally with our Pulsar® briquettes, which contain a patented scale inhibitor, there is a substantially large installed base of Pulsar feeders in commercial swimming pools in North America and Europe. We have developed new versions of our feeder system for smaller hotel and motel pools and for large water parks.
We believe that our simple, reliable feeders and proven chlorinating chemicals also provide the keys to unlocking a growth market – drinking water sanitization in smaller municipalities and in developing nations. Application of our water treatment expertise to potable water could significantly reduce the 10,000 deaths a day the World Health Organization attributes to waterborne illnesses.
A testament to our innovation in water chemistry is the pool shock treatment category, which we created single handedly through our innovative J3® technology. Our Sock It® and Super Sock It® products offer the highest level of free available chlorine in the industry, making them ideal for “shocking” a stressed pool back into sound health.
