GREENGUARD certification indicates that the wood has been tested and evaluated by an approved laboratory, and that the product meets the GREENGUARD chemical emission standards. Some green building guidelines, including those of the National Association of Home Builders and Green Guide for Health Care, require this certification for credits.
About the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification Program
As an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer, GEI establishes acceptable indoor air standards for indoor products, environments, and buildings. GEI’s mission is to improve public health and quality of life through programs that improve indoor air. GREENGUARD Certification is a valuable tool for architects, designers, product specifiers, and purchasing organizations that want to locate, specify, and purchase off-the-shelf, low-emitting products for indoor environments. It is a voluntary program available to all manufacturers and their suppliers. More than 50 manufacturers across industries offer GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® products.
