We at HTH® Water Products know that our consumers try to live their lives more efficiently while, making an effort to preserve the earth and its renewable resources. We wanted to share a few tips to help you utilize your HTH® Pool Care Products and operate your pool effectively throughout the season.

Make chlorine last longer. Add chlorine in the evenings. If your pool is not stabilized the ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun can destroy chlorine in as little as three hours. Adding chlorine products at night is more beneficial to the longevity of your chlorine. By adding stabilizer to your pool you are extending the life of the chlorine.
Heat your pool for less by covering your pool. A bubble cover can help trap heat and minimize evaporation. It can decrease heat loss by as much as 90 percent and increase the temperature of your pool water by 10 degrees, saving both water and energy.
Heat your Pool with Solar Energy. When using a solar energy system (instead of an electric pool heater), pool owners are able to heat their pools with natural renewable energy that has zero carbon emissions. Solar Energy systems require less maintenance; you simply begin your pool season by switching the system on and at the end of the season you switch the system off.
Decrease water evaporation by planting near your pool. Having plants near your pool helps absorb carbon dioxide in the air. Also, by adding trees and shrubs close to your pool helps decrease water evaporation when the pool is in use.
Reduce Waste by recycling containers. HTH® Products are contained in plastic pails, bottles and bags. These containers are recyclable, but they must be rinsed two to three times before being delivered to your local recycling location. Our suggestion - rinse these containers in your pool, eliminating waste water.

Don't think we are leaving all the work for you! Here are just a few ways that we have helped the earth by doing our part:
Reduce - Since 2008 we have saved over 12,000 trees by reducing corrugate use in our packaging.
Reuse - We reuse materials at manufacturing plants and utilize recyclable materials in our marketing materials, when available.
Recycle - We've implemented recycling programs at manufacturing plants and offices to reduce solid waste output.

What's in store for the future? We are continually looking for ways to further reduce our carbon footprint by offering concentrated products, reduced packaging, and working to lower energy use in the manufacturing of our products.
