Availability
Dricon® FRT wood is widely available in the commercial market. It is distributed coast to coast, in the United States and Canada, from wholesalers and dealers supplied by manufacturers licensed to pressure treat wood with Dricon chemical. Treating service of your lumber or plywood is also available on a special order basis from Dricon wood producers.
To locate the supplier nearest you, see the Producers list elsewhere on this site, or contact Arch Wood Protection at 1-866-USE-FRTW.
Costs
The cost of Dricon FRT wood is determined by the local distributor and varies depending on species, grade, location, and other economic factors. Even in cases where the purchase price is higher than a competitive noncombustible material, the in-place cost is often lower. Dricon FRT wood is installed using commonly available labor skills. It is easily handled and readily modified on site. If necessary, later remodeling is also simplified. Furthermore, since Dricon FRT wood (approximately 10% heavier than untreated wood) is considerably lighter weight than some alternative noncombustible materials, savings may be realized in support structures and transportation costs.
