Arch strives to maintain and improve our leadership position in Product Stewardship. One of the six initiatives outlined under the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® Program, Product Stewardship in intended to make health, safety, and environmental protection an integral part of a product's life cycle - from manufacture, marketing, and distribution to use, recycling, and disposal.
Successful implementation is a shared responsibility. Everyone involved with the product has responsibilities to address society's interest in a healthy environment and in products that can be used safely. We are each responsible for providing a safe workplace, and all who use and handle products must follow safe and environmentally sound practices. For further information on Product Stewardship, please contact us.
Emergency Resources
In case of emergency and you don't have an MSDS available, contact the Arch Chemicals Emergency Action Network (ACEAN) at (800) 654-6911, accessible 24-hours a day. The people who answer the phone are all trained to assist you in an emergency.
Additionally, in the event of an emergency, CHEMTREC (Chemical Transportation Emergency Center) should be contacted. CHEMTREC is a national center established by the Chemical Manufacturers Association (CMA) in Washington, DC, to relay pertinent emergency information concerning specific chemicals on request.
CHEMTREC has a 24-hour toll-free telephone number, 800-424-9300, intended primarily for use by those who respond to chemical transportation emergencies. CHEMTREC may also be accessed through the American Chemistry Council's web site.
Product Stewardship Summaries
Product stewardship summaries are intended to give general information about the chemical or categories of chemicals addressed. They are not intended to provide an in-depth discussion of health and safety information. Additional information is available through the chemical's applicable Material Safety Data Sheet which should be consulted before use of the chemical. Product stewardship summaries do not supplant or replace required regulatory and/or legal communication documents.
